THL-1010 Synoptic Gospels

Description

An analysis of the historical, social and religious contexts surrounding the life of Jesus and the emergence of the Synoptic Gospels (Mark, Matthew, Luke). Some further topics of study will include : the authorship and the intended audience, the common theologies to all three Synoptic Gospels, and those that are specific to each author. Through this course, students should gain a better appreciation of the ministry of Jesus and of its significance to the Christian community today.
